Position Title : Production Manager

Reports to : VP & General Manager
Salary Range : $85,000- $105,000
Job Summary :
The Production Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of production operations to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality products on time and in alignment with customer expectations. This role plays a critical part in driving operational excellence in Quality, Delivery, and Service, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. The Production Manager oversees daily execution, resource planning, and performance metrics while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and responsiveness. This individual directly influences the success of the organization by improving throughput, reducing lead times, and enhancing the customer experience through world-class manufacturing practices.
Principal Accountabilities :
Production Management & Operational Excellence
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) that support best-in-class execution and compliance with industry and customer requirements.
- Effectively manage resource scheduling to align with customer demand, internal capacity, and cost control targets while ensuring on-time delivery performance.
- Lead the execution of daily production plans with an unwavering focus on Quality, Delivery, and Service excellence.
- Analyze production workflows to eliminate bottlenecks, increase throughput, and reduce variation across operations.
- Oversee accurate and timely reporting of downtime and efficiency metrics, and drive data-based corrective actions on top operational issues.
- Maintain a proactive approach to continually improve quality performance, reduce customer escapes, and exceed delivery expectations.
- Lead structured daily Gemba walks to engage the floor, identify issues, validate metrics, and accelerate real-time problem solving, supported by visual management systems and standardized Gemba documentation practices.
- Thoroughly document production issues and deploy a structured problem-solving approach to facilitate closure through cross-functional collaboration.
- Facilitate and lead daily production stand-up meetings to align cross-functional teams, reinforce priorities, and escalate barriers to success.
- Develop and maintain risk mitigation and contingency strategies to ensure consistent service to customers, even under constrained conditions.
Continuous Improvement & Problem-Solving
Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement (CI) as foundational elements of the production culture.Lead root cause and corrective action processes using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Failure Mode Analysis.Incorporate customer feedback into continuous improvement initiatives to ensure alignment with service and performance expectations.Monitor and manage key production KPIs (OTD, first-pass yield rate, efficiency, etc.) to drive strategic improvements.Provide performance updates and insights to senior leadership with clear action plans tied to quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction goals.Team Development & Culture Building
Build and develop a high-performing production team by leveraging a skills matrix, competency-based training, and individualized development plans.Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and responsiveness to internal and external customers.Create recognition and incentive systems that reward process improvements, innovation, and service excellence.Define and communicate team metrics that are directly tied to customer outcomes and operational effectiveness.Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
2-4 years of experience as a Production Manager in a contract manufacturing environment for PCBAs. Demonstrated history of progressive career advancement in manufacturing leadership
Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and implement effective solutions.
Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem-solving tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams through coaching and mentoring.
Ability to drive accountability and performance excellence across production operations.
Experience working in fast-paced, high-mix, low-to-medium volume EMS manufacturing.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with ERP / MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality standards.
Background in Kaizen events and process improvement initiatives.
