Quality Engineer – 12-Month Contract-to-Hire | Aerospace & Defense | Northern New Jersey A U.S. aerospace manufacturer is seeking a Quality Engineer to support both production and new product development across power and actuation systems. This is a hands-on role within a high-reliability environment, focusing on quality compliance, process improvement, and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams. Responsibilities Lead root-cause and corrective-action activities for internal and supplier issues Support production builds and new development programs from a quality perspective Prepare and review First Article Inspections (FAIs) and Acceptance Data Packages Develop and maintain quality procedures aligned with AS9100 / AS9145 Conduct risk analysis and promote PFMEA, SPC, and MSA practices Support internal and customer audits and manage supplier corrective actions Requirements BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related discipline) 3–6 years’ experience in Quality Engineering within aerospace, defense, automotive, or medical device manufacturing Electrical background strongly preferred – experience with circuit card assemblies, power electronics, or electromechanical systems is ideal Knowledge of AS9100, AS9145, and special process controls Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics Excellent communication skills across engineering, production, and customer interfaces Experience with actuation systems or power supply assemblies is a major plus Details Onsite in Northern New Jersey Standard 5x8 schedule with some flexibility 12-month contract with the intent to transition to full-time employment
