Job Summary :
The White Glove Service Data Center Solution Architectrole is a key position which requires a strong background in data center facility solution design, build, and sourcing along with Infrastructure solutions experience. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data center solutions that meet the organization's infrastructure and business needs. You will provide advanced consultation and technology recommendations which span many technological areas to meet the customers' IT needs. You will work closely with internal cross-functional teams, and customer IT teams to ensure the successful execution of data center projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Data Center Solution Design :
- Collaborate with customers to understand data center requirements and develop comprehensive data center solutions
- Design and architect data center infrastructure to meet scalability, availability, and performance requirements
- Ensure data center designs align with industry best practices and compliance standards
Facility Build Expertise :
Assist customers as they execute on the construction and commissioning of data center facilities, including power, cooling, and physical security infrastructureAssist customers in their vendor relationships and coordinate construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budgetSourcing and Procurement :
Provide detailed analysis and justification to backup recommendations by identifying and recommending sources for data center equipment and components from reputable suppliers and vendorsWork with customers in negotiation of contracts, pricing, and service level agreements with vendors to optimize cost-effectiveness and performanceManage inventory and ensure equipment availability as per project timelinesInfrastructure Optimization :
Monitor and evaluate the performance and efficiency of data center systemsRecommend and implement improvements to optimize infrastructure, enhance energy efficiency, and reduce operational costsRisk Management and Compliance :
Identify and mitigate potential risks related to data center operations and facility buildEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including security, environmental, and safety guidelinesDocumentation and Reporting :
Maintain accurate records, project documentation, and reports related to data center operations and projectsProvide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and performance metricsGeneral Qualifications :
The position requires a combination of leadership qualities, technical skills, and business acumen.
Proven experience in data center facility build, solution design, and sourcing, preferably in a supervisory or staff-level roleIn-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and physical securityStrong project management and vendor management skillsFamiliarity with data center technologies and industry trends including senior level expertise in most of the areas below under Specific Role Qualifications belowExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in cross-functional teamsStrong analytical and decision-making skillsStrong Technical speaking and consultative sales skills - prior work as senior Systems Engineer a plusWillingness to travel as needed to support data center projectsQualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering / Computer Science or related field12+ years of related work experienceStrong analytical skillsExcellent organizational and leadership skillsMust be albe to multi-taskDC Networking hands on expertise - some Industry Certification desiredDC Storage solutions expertise - SAN design, understanding of hyperconverged offers, performance tradeoffsExpertise in Server considerations and deployments including connections to network and storage in DC and at remote siteExpertise in VMware technologies, Linux distributions, Firewalling solutions, including security segments, rules, DMZExpertise in network services including load balancing, VPN terminations, SASEExpertise in Air cooling and principals of liquid cooling along with DC power (CRAC, PDU, etc.)Salary Range
$200,000 - $230,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
