Collins Aerospace is looking to hire an Engineering Lab Assistant to join the Mission Systems Organization. We are looking for a strong passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla PR location and is to be worked Onsite . You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What YOU will do :

Provide electrical and mechanical station build support for research design development or manufacturing activities.

Responsible for reading engineering drawings and building engineering builds and associated cabling and connectors.

Use engineering tools and systems to look up reference and program information needed.

Assist engineers with the development of new engineering processes and / or products to ensure their manufacturability. May recommend design changes.

Printed circuit design build and repairs to include multi-pin cable and connector builds and cable continuity verification.

Qualifications you must have :

Typically requires HS Diploma or AA / AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).

U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program / contract.

Qualifications We Prefer :

Previous experience reading engineering drawings and using lookup tools.

Previous experience with printed circuit design build and repairs to include multi-pin cable and connector builds and cable continuity verification.

Familiarity with repair and assembly workmanship standards : IPC / WHMA-A-620 IPC-A-610 IPC J-STD-001

Familiarity with ESD Controls standard : ANSI / ESD S20.20

Familiarity with Test Engineering Support : ISO / IEC-17025a

Familiarity on how to interpret and apply Safety Data Sheets for handling materials such as solder flux and cleaners.
