Stipend : $2,000.00 - $5,500.00 DOE and title
Reports to : Athletic / Activities Director
Build a successful sports program by teaching each player the rules, sportsmanship, technical, and tactical aspects of the game to prepare them for success in training and competition
Requirements :
- The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following functions / tasks :
- Complies with and supports school and division regulations and policies and models non-discriminatory practices in all activities
- Conduct a preseason meeting with the team to discuss expectations
- Meets minimum practice requirements prior to the first match
- Provides Athletic Director with the layout for season training / practices and other activities
- Supervises, directs, coordinates, and monitors student-athletes
- Attends all team practices and games, frequent tardiness or failure to show up when scheduled can result in a loss in a portion of the stipend
- You are expected to attend all matches / games / training / practices, you are required to report your absence to the Athletic Director if you plan to miss a date
- After your third absence, you will receive a $100 deduction from your stipend, each absence thereafter will result in a $100 deduction for each absence
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions (including the monitoring of environmental conditions) to protect students, employees, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Prepare forms to the school administrators as required by the HCPA, i.e., eligibility roster, players’ addresses, accident reports, ensuring the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit and emergency care cards at all times
- Models and instills positive sportsmanship qualities in the student-athletes in all activities
- Interacts with student-athletes, teachers, parents, and the community to build enthusiasm
- Sets a vision for the direction of the program and should dictate what the program should focus on in order to be ready to contribute to the next level.
- Provides and / or monitors appropriate medical assistance to injured participants in athletic activities, as requested by head coach
- Instruct students in safety procedures, the need to report injuries to a coach and / or athletic trainer immediately
- Assumes responsibility for professional growth and keeps materials, supplies, and skills up-to-date
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of rules, regulations, and effective coaching practices
- Monitor the academic performance of athletes and ensure that academic assistance and follow-up is provided for athletes that need it
- Coordinates a Team Banquet at the end of the season (only for Head Coaches)
- Coordinating team transportation arrangements for all away games / activities
- Follows procedures established by HCPA for communicating with parents / guardians
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and / or building administrator(s)
