Wage : $130,000 - $165,000 / year

The Senior Electrical and Automation Design Engineer plays a key leadership role in designing electrical power distribution and automation systems for municipal water and wastewater facilities. This position bridges consulting engineering and integration design, ensuring that every solution meets the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability.

This is a senior-level position ideal for candidates with 15+ years of experience who are eager to take ownership of complex projects, mentor junior staff, and guide multidisciplinary teams from concept through completion.

Senior Electrical and Automation Design Engineer Responsibilities :

• Lead the design of electrical distribution systems, including single-line diagrams, plan drawings, panel schedules, and equipment layouts
• Oversee control system and automation design, including PLC architectures, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and communication networks
• Serve as technical lead and project mentor, providing oversight and review for engineering deliverables across multiple projects
• Prepare and review project specifications for electrical, instrumentation, and process control systems
• Develop detailed P&IDs, control panel schematics, bills of material, and communication diagrams
• Ensure all designs comply with industry codes, standards, and best practices
• Collaborate with integrators, project managers, and clients to ensure seamless integration between design and implementation phases
• Conduct site visits for design verification, troubleshooting, and system commissioning support
• Contribute to the development and refinement of company design standards and best practices
