Job Title : Director of Operations – Landscaping
Reports To : Division Manager / Owner
Job Summary :
The Director of Operations will oversee all landscaping operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and profitability. This role is responsible for managing teams, optimizing workflows, building client relationships, and driving growth. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with strong operational expertise in landscaping, project management, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead day-to-day operations for landscaping projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, equipment usage, and job costing.
- Manage and mentor field supervisors, crew leaders, and office staff to ensure professional growth and performance.
- Partner with the sales and business development team to align operations with client needs and company growth goals.
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, and prepare operational reports for leadership.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in service delivery, client satisfaction, and employee engagement.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Support recruitment, training, and retention of skilled employees.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Horticulture, Landscape Management, or related field (preferred).7+ years of progressive experience in landscaping, construction, or related industry, with at least 3 years in an operations leadership role.Proven track record of managing large teams and multiple projects simultaneously.Strong knowledge of landscaping practices, equipment, materials, and industry standards.Excellent financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and P&L oversight.Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with project management software, scheduling tools, and MS Office Suite.Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Physical Requirements :
Ability to work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions.Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs and extended periods of walking or standing.#INDHP
