WinSystems designs and manufactures embedded computer systems for industrial applications. Our products include x86 and Arm® based embedded single board computers, COM / SOM, Integrated Systems, and I / O modules.
The Sustaining Engineer manages the ongoing support of existing products, through Identification, assessment, reproduction, and resolution of technical issues throughout the product's lifecycle. Critical factors for success in this position are the ability to learn our systems and how they apply to our customers' business; and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with our customers, and across all teams in the organization.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Electrical and computer debug
- Product Issue reproduction, debug, and resolution.
- Includes 1st level Customer Support.
- Includes 2nd level RMA support. (Manufacturing team handles 1st level support, escalates to Engineering when needed)
- Support internal and external meetings with customers
- Reviews and approves ECO documents and processes for production.
- Collaborates with the Development, Support, Product, and QA teams to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues, which may impact multiple customers.
- Assists with warranty / failure root cause analysis on electronics & electromechanical devices.
Secondary Responsibilities :
Product design activities include electrical schematic capture, layout, validation and lab bench setup.Design (eCAD) infrastructure maintenance including Altium components, 2nd sourcing.2nd level Production Test SupportPerforms design reviews with engineering and manufacturing perspectives (DFT, DFM)Development and maintenance of Manufacturing and Test procedures.Performs testing and analyzes test data. Create test reports to document results and makes design recommendations.Contributes to R&D projects in a team setting to meet project cost targets and delivery dates.Provides design input to product development teams regarding how to improve manufacturability and repairability of new and existing products.Other Individual Expectations :
The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering, with at least 3 years of professional experience in embedded computers or a related discipline.Excellent computer system debug skills are critical to this position.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and isolate product's electrical failures in a lab or application environmentsDetail-oriented with a focus on process and qualityProficient experience interpreting drawings, schematics, interface specifications, system level requirements.Must be able to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues and customers in a positive, professional, and effective manner while exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices.Some experience with electrical lab bench tool usage (meter, scope, etc.) is required.The ability to read engineering schematics and layout is required.Altium or similar eCAD tool knowledge is required.Advanced level knowledge of Windows and Linux OS is desired.Ability to load, configure, customize, troubleshoot, and add drivers to the OS.FPGA code development and programing a plus.The Sustaining Engineer position is a full-time, on-site position.
