Position Summary
The Technical Services Manager is an executive-level role responsible for elevating our technical capabilities across product design, tooling, process engineering, and facilities. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, collaborate directly with customers, and shape the strategic direction of our manufacturing footprint.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Design & Customer Interface
- Act as the technical liaison for customers, translating requirements into manufacturable designs
- Provide DFM guidance during new product development
- Lead feasibility studies and technical quoting to onboard new programs
2. Tooling Management
Oversee the full lifecycle of molds and tooling—design, procurement, maintenance, and replacementPartner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maximize tool uptime and performanceDrive cost and cycle-time reductions through tooling innovation3. Process Engineering
Develop, validate, and continuously improve injection and structural foam molding processesEstablish and maintain SOPs to ensure consistent, efficient productionIntroduce advanced technologies and best practices for process optimization4. Facilities & Capital Engineering
Manage plant engineering projects and facility upgrades to support volume growth and safety standardsCollaborate with operations on utilities, equipment, and infrastructure requirementsLead capital planning and oversee installation of technical assets5. Technical Leadership & Strategy
Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing technical services teamAlign engineering, maintenance, and support initiatives with corporate objectivesServe as the technical voice in executive strategy sessions, driving innovation and operational excellenceRequirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Plastics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field10+ years in plastic injection molding, with strong exposure to structural foam processesProven leadership success in a manufacturing environment, scaling technical operationsExcellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsTrack record of delivering process improvements, cost savings, and tooling innovationsBenefits
