Compensation : $70,000 - $75,000 + benefits
About the Opportunity
A leading manufacturer is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring product and supplier quality, supporting vendor development, and resolving product issues in steel manufacturing and ground control solutions.
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for conducting laboratory testing, supporting product development, and collaborating with Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality teams. This role also involves working with suppliers and manufacturing facilities to ensure all products meet quality, regulatory, and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory testing on manufactured and purchased products.
- Apply engineering principles to perform calculations, analyses, and determine testing requirements.
- Interpret product drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and communications for internal teams and suppliers.
- Support vendor audits and development in coordination with Purchasing.
- Assist with quality audits and product testing as assigned.
- Operate or learn to operate lab equipment such as tensile and hardness testers.
- Prepare samples for testing using saws, grinders, and other tools.
- Maintain lab organization and manage part / sample retention systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Materials Engineering preferred).3-5 years of relevant experience a plus.Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor.Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (stamping, forging, machining, or casting).Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles.Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical reporting.Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Willingness to travel up to 25% (domestic and international).Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied physical settings.Benefits
