Job description

Event Security Specialist

We're looking for an Event Security Specialist to assist in coordinating, administering, and monitoring all activity in their designated work area. The candidate will join the Comcast Corporate Security team focusing on event security and the Campus Floor Captain Program. In addition, they must maintain a positive and friendly demeanor when interacting with visitors, customers, and employees in a high-activity workplace, while protecting the company's people, property, and assets. Prior Security experience is required.

Core Responsibilities

  • Leads or assists internal and external event security including assessments, briefing documents, and after-action reports
  • Maintains an accurate security calendar of specialized events
  • Attends scheduled stakeholder meetings.
  • Assists in tracking and reporting on program metrics for leadership
  • Demonstrates exemplary customer service skills by maintaining a friendly and positive demeanor
  • Possesses operational knowledge in the use of handheld radios, CCTV, and access control systems
  • Conducts training and re-training of contracted security professionals assigned to event-specific posts.
  • Adheres to and helps implement departmental goals and procedures
  • Assists the Global Risk Intelligence Team, Protective Services Team, and the Global Security Operations Center as needed
  • Responds and reacts in emergencies
  • Acts under the guidance of management to satisfy various protective details including protests, dignitary affairs, and major events
  • Assists with managing the Campus Floor Captain program
  • Performs assessments and audits of the Campus Floor Captain materials to ensure they meet current standards
  • Leads and assists in Campus emergency response / drills
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Occasional travel required (10%)
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Problem-solver with excellent strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or on a team and multi-task in a face paced environment
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary
  • Energetic, collaborative, team-player who can think critically
  • Proficient utilization of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR, First Aid, and AED Certified
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Minimum 3-5 years of security or related experience

    Bachelor's Degree While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
