Payroll Specialist
Job Description
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for obtaining and entering accurate HR information and payroll data into the payroll system. This role involves analyzing and inputting timecard data, ensuring employee wages are paid correctly, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. You will process payroll changes, track certified reports for compliance, and cultivate strong relationships with internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
Enter HR information and payroll data accurately and timely into the payroll system.
Analyze and input timecard data to ensure accurate payroll processing.
Maintain confidentiality of all company, employee, and customer data.
Ensure employee wages comply with all applicable collective bargaining agreements.
Seek assistance to resolve or report problems when necessary.
Process payroll changes including new hires, promotions, terminations, transfers, and more.
Ensure compliance and follow controls to achieve error-free payroll.
Respond accurately and timely to management and employee inquiries.
Consult with others to resolve issues and communicate with concerned parties.
Track and submit certified reports for prevailing wage jobs.
Scan, archive, and file payroll-related documents according to company policies.
Cultivate strong and cooperative working relationships with customers.
Essential Skills
2-5 years of Payroll experience.
Experience with union payroll and certified payroll reporting.
Knowledge of prevailing wage and union agreements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with in-house payroll systems.
Proficiency in reconciliation processes.
Work Environment
This is a 100% remote role, allowing you to work from any state. The position supports various unions, with all unions paid weekly. The team is rapidly growing, and the work involves processing weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for up to 700 employees across 10 different unions. The company is in a major growth mode, with the payroll department expanding to 20+ individuals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 / hr.
