Job description

Receptionist

The Receptionist receives and correctly routes incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors so that all callers / visitors are attended to promptly, courteously, and accurately. The Receptionist performs basic administrative / clerical / operational / customer support / computational tasks. Typically works on routine and patterned assignments. Checking in and outpatients, insurance verification and data entry.

Essential Functions

Answer phone calls utilizing a multi-line telephone system.

Ensure accurate and timely processing of all requests by taking appropriate action, such as scheduling appointments, taking messages, transferring calls to appropriate staff.

Ensure thorough records are maintained by documenting discussion, messages and actions taken to process inquiries.

Resolve patient issues through independent problem solving and with a goal of first call.

Use Your Skills To Make An Impact

Must have medical setting front desk and insurance verification experience.

Ability to handle high call volume and multi-task while providing an exceptional customer experience.

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to remain calm and helpful even when dealing with upset customers.

Ability to foster teamwork and partnerships with cross-functional departments to resolve issues and improve customer experience.

1 or more years' experience in a medical office or healthcare setting utilizing a computer-based practice management software system.

Experience in EMR systems such as E-Clinical Works, Epic, Athena Health, and / or NextGen.

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience in a highly customer service-oriented environment.

Knowledge of and strict adherence to HIPAA

Must be Bilingual English (read, write & speak) and Spanish (speak).

Work Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 AM

5 : 00 PM (EST)

Scheduled Weekly Hours : 40

Pay Range : $38,000 - $45,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and / or individual performance.
