In this role, you will work directly with clients to lead and manage audit, review, compilation, and financial statement engagements. You will oversee junior staff, implement process improvements, and cultivate professional client relationships. Our clients span various industries, including manufacturing, distribution, technology, and nonprofits, primarily located in the Chicagoland area.
Responsibilities :
- Lead smaller audit engagements and perform complex audit procedures
- Interact directly with clients to gather information and resolve issues
- Prepare audit documentation and working paper
- Supervise and train staff auditors
- Review junior staff work for accuracy
- Assign tasks and monitor engagement progress
- Draft financial statements and management letters
- Research accounting / auditing standards
- Prepare audit programs and risk assessments
- Assist with scheduling and resource allocation
- Support business development and client retention
- Participate in quality control reviews
Required Skills / Abilities :
Proven supervisory experience.Experience with NFP audits.Knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB Auditing Standards.Willingness and ability to travel as needed.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.Over three years of recent public accounting audit experience, with increasing scope and responsibility.CPA license or CPA candidate preferred.Strong attention to detail, communication, organizational, analytical, client service, time management, and PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
