Position : IT Network Systems Field Technician

Job Location : Floral Park, NY

Salary Range : $75,000-$80,000

Schultheis & Panettieri, LLP is looking for a full-time IT Field Technician to service our small and medium-sized clients. The right candidate will exhibit a positive attitude while taking responsibility for providing timely service and support to our diverse client base. This position may require the consultant to travel locally up to 40% of the time visiting client sites to perform IT support. IT support will include desktop support and network administration on Microsoft-based servers, workstations, firewalls, backups and all associated hardware and software. This position will allow you to hone your project management skills by participating in the new project life-cycle from inception including the research, design, documentation, configuration, and execution of the projects. The prospective candidate must be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and will be expected to continue developing their skills while servicing clients in the Long Island & New York metropolitan area. Ideal candidate would be willing to work out of both our Hauppauge, NY and Floral Park, NY offices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end users' with computer hardware & software help desk support
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues on servers, workstations and network infrastructure
  • Setup and configuration of workstations, printers, scanners, etc.
  • Assist with software upgrades
  • Setup and configuration of firewalls, routers, backup devices.
  • Setting up Hyper-V hosts and servers
  • Local travel required providing support at client sites

Education

  • AS or BS Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology a plus

    • Qualifications

  • 1+ years' experience in a similar role providing network administration support to clients on a consulting basis

    • Skills

    Knowledge of :

  • Windows Server Operating Systems
  • Firewalls, Routers, and other network devices
  • Network Server technology and infrastructure.
  • Microsoft Office Suite and other standard desktop applications
  • Managed Services software. (Labtech, Connectwise)
  • Backup technologies and Antivirus applications (Datto, Webroot, Avast)
  • Group Policy and Active Directory
  • Microsoft Hyper-V - VMware Virtualization Solutions.
  • VPN environments including DNS, and TCP / IP
  • Ability to continually adapt in a dynamic, fast paced, highly rewarding environment.
  • Ability to independently analyze problems and provide workable solutions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exhibits patience and enjoys assisting end users
