High Voltage Electrical Engineer

A High Voltage Electrical Engineer at VJX is engaged in technical projects that include design, assembling, wiring, testing and troubleshooting complex, electro-mechanical, integrated x-ray sources and high voltage generators.
Job Description :
- Design, modify and evaluate electronic circuitry, parts and components for high voltage power supplies for x-ray applications
- Test, troubleshoot and debug electrical components and systems
- Regularly work with power output up to 450 kV and up to 6kW
- Work on multiple projects varying in complexity from inception to completion
- Analyze equipment to establish operating data and conduct experimental tests
- Works with technical personnel to ensure prototype models are assembled according to design specification
- Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications, internal guidelines, quality standards and national codes / standards
- Generate, revise or finalize BOMs
- Create and maintain engineering reports
- Interact with a cross-disciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, embedded software and special projects) on system designs and to help resolve customer issues and provide world class customer service
- Participation in the creation of technical documentation, system manuals and customer facing documentation

Essential Skills :
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong working knowledge of power supplies, electrical circuitry with established electrical safety work protocols and practices and ability to read electrical diagramsKnowledge of analog circuit designFamiliarity with soft switching techniques, schematics capture and PCB layoutAbility to solve complex technical problems with minimal supervisionExperience with a variety of testing equipment including but not limited to Oscilloscopes and MultimetersProficient soldering skillsProficiency in the English language with established written and verbal communication skillsAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and customers to influence, train and negotiate simple to complex topicsProficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, capable of prioritization, multitasking and effective organizationMust be legally authorized to work in the USWill need to successfully pass a drug screening and background checkNon-Essential Skills :
Knowledge of CE, UL, or other applicable regulatory guidelines or standardsBasic understanding of an ERP systemAbility to travel domestically and internationally for customer service purposesPhysical Demands and Mental Demands :
Regularly required to sit, walk, bend, stoop and stand in a manufacturing environmentWill be required to lift, move, erect, install and assemble components of varying weight, height, length and width dimensionsDay to day responsibilities will require lifting, moving, staging and placing of materials up to 50 pounds alone and heavier with assistanceWill need to repeatedly use hands & fingers to operate basic office equipment and operate hand and power tools standard to a production environmentExpected to effectively communicate in person, on phone, and via email or other electronic devices on a continual and repetitive basisVision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusMust be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe mannerMay be required to travel, domestically and internationally, by car and by air.
