We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the energy sector. This position will play a crucial role in our financial department, with a focus on intercompany transactions, consolidations, financial statement preparation, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The ideal candidate will have a background in the oil and gas industry, a solid understanding of NetSuite, and a proven track record of managing complex financial operations. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, with plenty of room for career advancement.

Responsibilities :

Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and GAAP.

Prepare elimination and consolidating entries as part of the month-end close process.

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

Collaborate with the accounting team to improve financial procedures and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.

Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.

Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.

Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.

Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of financial instruments, market conditions, and trends.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related field, with at least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in the energy sector, preferably in oil and gas.

In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Proven experience with financial statement preparation, intercompany entries, and consolidation.

Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting software.

Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards.

Proven track record of leading projects / process improvement within operations / finance functions; able to drive projects from inception to completion.

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required.
