Asset Manager

Our client is seeking a skilled and driven Asset Manager to oversee a portfolio of affordable housing properties. This individual will be responsible for maximizing financial performance, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining full compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical ability with hands-on property oversight experience and a passion for mission-driven real estate.
Key Responsibilities :
Portfolio Oversight :
- Manage the financial, operational, and compliance performance of multiple affordable housing properties.
- Conduct regular property reviews and site visits to assess operations, maintenance, and resident satisfaction.
- Collaborate with property management teams to resolve performance issues and implement improvement strategies.
- Monitor key performance indicators, occupancy levels, and operating budgets to ensure alignment with goals.
Financial Management :
Analyze operating statements, cash flow reports, and budget variances; recommend corrective actions as needed.Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes.Prepare and present financial and operational performance reports to senior leadership and investors.Oversee asset-level financial compliance with loan covenants, investor agreements, and regulatory standards.Compliance & Risk Management :
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local housing regulations, including HUD, HCD, and LIHTC requirements.Maintain accurate records for audits, lender reviews, and investor reporting.Coordinate with compliance and legal teams to address findings and implement risk mitigation measures.Capital Planning & Strategy :
Develop and execute asset management strategies to enhance property value and long-term sustainability.Support property dispositions, refinancing, and acquisition due diligence by providing financial and operational analysis.Participate in planning and oversight of capital improvement projects.Leadership & Collaboration :
Partner cross-functionally with finance, development, and operations teams to ensure portfolio alignment with organizational goals.Mentor junior team members, promoting professional growth and strong analytical and reporting skills.Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field.5+ years of experience in asset management, property management, or related affordable housing experience.Strong understanding of affordable housing regulations and financing, including LIHTC and HUD programs.Experience managing Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) properties preferred.Proficiency with property management and financial analysis systems such as Yardi, MRI, or RealPage.Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Compensation :
$110,000 - $120,000
