The Oceanic Systems Operating Unit Contracts team is looking for a Principal Contract Administrator / Sr. Principal Contract Administrator to support its Undersea Warfare (UW) portfolio. The UW team supports several exciting and important programs such as sonar and uncrewed underwater vehicles. This position is located full time at the Annapolis campus, next to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
As a Contract Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract closeout activities, and contract administration. Additionally, you will manage customer contact activities to ensure proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. This role will position you as a key advisor to program managers, and your responsibilities will include :
- Prioritizing proposal activities and concurrently managing multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Identifying contractual risks and implementing appropriate provisions to mitigate them.
- Planning and executing successful contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms for contracts and agreements to mitigate risk and achieve financial goals.
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with customers, overcoming geographical challenges to cultivate early trust and intimacy.
- Making timely decisions under pressure and providing guidance while collaborating with various organizations, including technical, program, finance, and global supply chain, for seamless contract administration.
- Acting as the primary interface for customers on contractual issues, ensuring that all contractual obligations are communicated and understood.
- Participating in proposal preparation, contract negotiations, and contract administration activities, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
- Managing contract changes, fulfilling contract requirements, and maintaining historical information for assigned contracts.
- Reviewing terms and conditions to identify potential risks in areas such as financial terms, acceptance criteria, delivery requirements, and intellectual property, while recommending corresponding risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications for Principal Contract Administrator : Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of professional experience or a Master's degree with 3+ years of professional experience. Experience in contracts, proposals, or business management. Knowledge of FAR / DFAR requirements and various contract types, including Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, and Cost-Plus Award Fee.Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Contract Administrator : Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of professional experience or a Master's degree with 6+ years of professional experience. Experience in contracts, proposals, or business management. Knowledge of FAR / DFAR requirements and various contract types, including Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, and Cost-Plus Award Fee.Preferred Qualifications for both levels : Master of Business Administration (MBA). Experience in contracts administration or management with the US Navy and / or other prime contractors. Certification from the National Contracts Management Association (NCMA). Experience supporting Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Requests for Equitable Adjustment (REAs). Extensive proposal support experience is a plus.
