Grounds Maintenance Assistant

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Grounds and Garden Maintenance Assistant to join our team at one of New Zealands leading secondary schools known for its beautiful campus and commitment to excellence. This role is essential in ensuring our extensive grounds and gardens remain attractive functional and safe throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the maintenance of lawns gardens and outdoor areas

Operate and maintain grounds equipment (mowers trimmers etc.)

Support seasonal planting pruning and landscaping projects

Ensure pathways and outdoor spaces are clean and hazard-free

Work collaboratively with the Property team to complete tasks efficiently

About You

Previous experience in grounds or garden maintenance is an advantage

Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Knowledge of horticulture and landscaping practices is desirable

Reliable punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team

A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards
