Job Description Summary
This position reports directly to the Warehouse Operations Manager of the Lamb Weston American Falls warehouse facility. This position is responsible for supporting the 24 / 7 demands of a warehouse by directing and mentoring team members, building relationships, managing inventories, and supporting day-to-day operations of the warehouse. Position supervises team working rotational 12 hour shift 7pm-7am.
Job Description
- Lead initiatives and team members in developing safety culture towards world class through reporting of incidents and near misses, escalating safety concerns, and ensuring completion of monthly training
- Actively demonstrate the ability to understand and lead our Lamb Weston Vision, Mission, and Values
- Manage up to 30 warehouse team members (hire, onboard, train, mentor, and develop)
- Work, lead and resource team members by being available on the floor
- Deliver G-force data, paperwork errors, and safety infractions, with action plans against data to respective team member
- Create performance / disciplinary actions to address deficiencies and submit for review to Warehouse Operations Manager
- Plan labor for shift with the utilization of timekeeping system, schedules, and forecasting tools for respective shift to meet volume and cost performance goals established by management
- Participate in monthly facility inspections / audits
- Work with maintenance department to ensure building infrastructure and equipment are in good operating condition
- Work with inventory department when necessary to ensure thermometer and calibration program complies with company program
- Support training of team members on warehouse equipment (ie. forklifts, loading / unloading of railcars / trucks) and helps enforce safe behaviors on equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education / Certifications :
High School Diploma or GED equivalent requiredAssociate's degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school preferredSkills and Experience :
3 years' experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment2 years' leadership experience preferredExperience building, leading, coaching, and mentoring teamsExcellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skillsExcellent PC skills to include Windows, Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), and timekeeping systemsAbility to compute various math functions as it relates to production / inventory (i.e. proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume, etc.)Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formAbility to read and interpret documents such as operating procedures, other instructions and manuals.Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writingBilingual English-Spanish preferredAbility to work different shiftsPhysical Environment / Demands :
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperatureExposure to warehouse environments for up to 12 hours per work day to include : loud noise, excessive heat, excessive cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergiesExposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant OperationRequires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
