Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Radiation Therapist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : 12 / 15 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Title : Radiation Therapist (Allied) Location : Watertown, NY Duration : 13 weeks (12 / 15 / 2025 - 03 / 18 / 2026) Shift : 8-hour Day Shift (8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM), 40 guaranteed hours per week Job Responsibilities Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Operate and maintain linear accelerators, with a specific emphasis on Varian TrueBeam systems. Accurately position patients using immobilization devices and verify setup through imaging (kV, MV, or CBCT) as required. Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and physicists to ensure optimal treatment delivery and patient outcomes. Maintain accurate treatment and patient records in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards. Provide compassionate patient care and clear communication regarding procedures and expectations. Participate in daily quality assurance procedures to ensure proper equipment performance. Required Skills and Qualifications : Experience : Minimum 1 year of radiologic or imaging experience; prior oncology or radiation therapy experience required. Education : Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology. Certifications : ARRT (T) - Registered Radiation Therapist BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) - Current certification required Licensure : Active New York State License required at time of start. Technical Skills : Proven TrueBeam system experience (required) Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to radiation therapy. Compliance : Must maintain all required state and federal registries and licenses. Preferred Qualifications Additional training or experience in general radiology or imaging modalities. Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills in an oncology environment.
