Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Manchester, Connecticut 06040 (Greater Hartford area)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : October 6, 2025

End Date : January 5, 2026

Healthcare Setting : Family Birthing Center (20 beds, average daily census of 12)

Shift : 3x12-hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), block scheduling

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1860-$2000

Scrubs : Provided

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or compact state

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience

Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP, EFM-C

Experience with Meditech charting system preferred

COVID-19 vaccination and booster required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

References and copies of certifications required upon submission

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care

Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and perform newborn assessments

Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using EFM and IUPC

Administer medications and therapies such as magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, Pitocin, and blood products

Educate and support parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, car seat safety, and discharge planning

Respond to obstetric emergencies, including postpartum hemorrhage and neonatal resuscitation

Document patient care using Omnicell, Meditech, and GE Centricity systems

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
