Animal Dental Center (ADC) is seeking a full‑time anesthesiologist to join our specialty dentistry and oral surgery private practice located in Maryland and southern Pennsylvania. We are a group of six board‑certified veterinary dentists and our veterinary dentistry & oral surgery residents. ADC provides premier outpatient specialty dentistry and oral surgery services to the tri‑state and Mid‑Atlantic area, and our focus is unparalleled patient and client care. We provide exceptional work‑life balance and a complete compensation package. Our work week is 4 weekdays, with no weekends or holidays, and no on‑call responsibilities. We desire to expand our specialty service by collaborating with a board‑certified veterinary anesthesiologist and are excited to meet the right candidate! Applicants should be a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia or be residency trained. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate proficiently with our team are important requirements.
This is an opportunity to create an anesthesia service that fits your lifestyle and complements our Diplomate team. Currently, anesthesia training occurs onsite annually from an ACVAA Diplomate. We have a dedicated team of veterinary assistants and technicians – many of whom are currently enrolled in licensing training, and several of whom are interested in pursuing veterinary technician specialty training.
The primary role of the anesthesiologist is to provide and manage a full anesthesia service across the four office locations. All our offices are newly renovated – each having undergone renovations within the last five The role will include both perioperative and postoperative care of onsite cases. You will directly manage onsite cases, provide support to our anesthesia‑focused technical staff, and, when feasible, offer indirect remote support to other office locations. The anesthesiologist will review all medical records for that day’s onsite cases to determine suitability for anesthesia, plan additional diagnostics, and formulate a complete anesthetic plan. Work‑week schedule is open for discussion and flexible – all our office locations perform surgery daily, so an anesthesiologist’s input and oversight will be far‑reaching.
Team building and leadership is an essential role of the accepted anesthesiologist. Building and supporting relationships with ADC’s referring veterinary population is imperative. Responsibilities also include surgery schedule involvement, training of assistants and technicians, and collaboration with the CSR team – all of which can be evolved based on the interest(s) of the accepted candidate.
Clients facing expectations are also open to discussion. In general, the position welcomes feedback and creation by the accepted anesthesiologist. ADC has been practicing in the Delmarva peninsula and southern Pennsylvania for over 30 years – it is time to expand further to continue to provide the imminent care our referring network and clients / patients expect. We encourage all interested applicants to apply.
