Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a home health position in Hawaii, requiring at least one year of home health experience and a current BLS and Hawaii license.

Responsibilities

  • Home health setting serving primarily geriatric patients on Kaua'i, with occasional floating to Oahu, Maui, and Big Island
  • Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM
  • Coverage may include patients with neurologic, orthopedic, cardiac, and pulmonary diagnoses such as stroke, COPD, CHF, CABG, and cystic fibrosis
  • Productivity requirement of 25 units per week
  • Documentation is completed in MatrixCare
  • Responsibilities include performing assessments, developing home exercise programs, discharge planning, and patient / family education
  • May float to other islands with all related travel expenses paid
  • Scrubs of any color and closed-toed shoes required
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Experience or interest in wound care, acute care, lymphedema management, spinal cord and traumatic brain injury, and neurodevelopmental techniques is preferred
  • No modules required for onboarding

    • Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of home health physical therapy experience required
  • Current BLS certification through AHA required
  • Active Hawaii PT license required for consideration
  • Experience with geriatrics, neurology, orthopedics, and the use of adaptive and assistive devices
  • Competency in assessment, evaluation, discharge planning, OASIS, and creation of plans and goals
  • Familiarity with MatrixCare or ability to learn the system quickly
  • License required if applicable
