Job description

Responsibilities

The Supervisor, Pharmacist Infectious Disease develops, implements, and maintains Norton Healthcare’s adult antimicrobial stewardship program in line with accreditation standards and best practices. This role serves as a liaison to the Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship Team at Norton Children’s Hospital and is responsible for ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and monitoring outcome data related to antimicrobial stewardship. The Supervisor, Pharmacist Infectious Disease promotes a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement by identifying safety and quality improvement opportunities and ensuring that opportunities identified are communicated, addressed, and improved; establishes effective, collaborative relationships with physician leaders, pharmacy leadership, quality leadership, and other non-pharmacy stakeholders to advance the goals and objectives of system antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacy department to improve clinical infectious disease and antimicrobial stewardship pharmacy practice across the system; gains buy-in and support from medical staff members of Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee, system medical executive committee, hospital medical executive committees, and other medical staff committees, as appropriate. The Supervisor, Pharmacist Infectious Disease oversees the Clinical Pharmacist Specialists in Infectious Disease at the adult facilities and participate in direct patient care stewardship activities to meet patient needs. The Supervisor, Pharmacist Infectious Disease supports clinical education of pharmacy students and residents within Norton Healthcare.

Qualifications

Required :

  • Completion of an accredited Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) & PGY2 Infectious Disease residency (or relevant fellowship) plus one year work as an Infectious Disease (ID) Pharmacist or three years of experience as ID Pharmacist
  • Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy
  • Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in the state of Kentucky (KY)

Desired :

  • Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 2 (PGY2) Infectious Disease Residency
  • Doctorate Degree
  • Registered pharmacist in the state of Indiana (IN), Board Certificated Infectious Disease Pharmacist
