Summary

The Product Engineer III designs, develops, tests, and sustains mechanical and electro-mechanical components and systems for FCB machines, components, prototypes, and devices in accordance with customer and agency requirements.

• Develop the full project life cycle and lead cost savings projects by collaborating with cross functional teams to accomplish assigned tasks, manage the project schedule and budget, and resolve obstacles to achieve the strategic goal, with minimal / no supervision.
• Lead department initiatives and project-based work for product improvements and cost savings.
• Perform technical calculations and analytical modeling.
• Design, develop, validate, and sustain components that are made from processes such as sheet metal bending, injection molding, brazing, machining, thermoforming, and other standard manufacturing processes.
• Define and develop component specification / selection, prototyping, testing, and regulatory requirements of mechanical structuring and fluid systems equipment for current products.
• Coordinate and manage the integration of new designs and / or design improvements into the product commercialization process.
• Develop new assembly and / or machine configurations to meet specific customer needs and expand product lines.
• Generate models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks or Parametric Solid Modeling.
• Investigate and create Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to correct or improve engineering models, drawings, and bill of materials (BOMs).
• Follow and maintain methods and procedures for the transfer of design packages including part and assembly drawings, BOMs, and other documentation required.
• Communicate with customers and vendors on requirements and materials needed for project completion.
• Provide technical support to product engineering, sales, customer service, quality, and manufacturing departments.
• Participate in investigations and resolve field problems and customer issues related to specific products.
• Facilitate and participate in project reviews and meetings.
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
