Job description :

Conduct age appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination in accordance with current standards of professional practice, regulatory requirements and agency policies and procedures.

Perform assessment / data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient / family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy

Consult with other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings

Participate with physicians and other clinicians in the department to assure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service

Review medical records for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols

Provides primary medical care to patients and manages acute and chronic conditions.

Assesses patients’ conditions and age-specific medical needs; sets goals and prescribes appropriate clinical interventions to meet these goals.

Prescribes appropriate laboratory and diagnosis procedures related to patients’ health status and facilitates appropriate treatment intervention predicated on results of these procedures.

Provides comprehensive medical services for members of family, regardless of age or sex, on continuing basis : Examines patients, using medical instruments and equipment.

Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities and achieves productivity goals. Examination of patients, formulation differential diagnostic plans, defines and orders required diagnostic testing.

Interpretation of examination findings and test results, and implementation of treatment plans.

Determines need for consultation and assists in medical care and treatment provided at the direction of other specialists.

Qualifications :

Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Board Certification via National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners, or the American Nursing Association.

A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED)

Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited university required.

Current DEA if required for specialty
