Overview

Machine Learning Research Scientist (Health & Sensing) at Eight Sleep. We are seeking researchers passionate about using AI & ML to transform sensor data into personalized intelligent health & fitness experiences. The role involves working with heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, and other metrics to drive data-driven health outcomes, in collaboration with a cross-functional R&D and production team.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects such as :
• Autopilot Thermoregulation : Advance the Pod’s adaptive thermoregulation system, designing policies that optimize comfort and sleep quality in real time through reinforcement learning and closed-loop control.
• Health Foundation Modeling : Develop a multimodal health foundation model integrating physiology and environmental context using Pod signals, wearable sensors, and contextual data, leveraging large-scale sleep data.
• Develop behavioral simulations : Build a high-fidelity physiological simulator that models how daily behaviors affect sleep and readiness, creating an always-on model of healthy aging from Pod biosignals and continuous physiological data.
