Machine Operator 2 – Colorado Springs, CO
SUMMARY
Set-up, troubleshoot, operate and maintain equipment used to build Cylinders / Locks. This will include equipment such as Mills, Broaching machines, Lathes, etc.
What You Will Do : Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot machining problems
- Provide direct process improvement support to Manager / Supervisor and Engineering
- Perform “clean-table” set-ups on new products or processes
- Operate computer-controlled equipment throughout shift
- Operate high production equipment
- Change and adjust machine tooling to maintain specific quality levels
- Change and / or adjust tooling and make offset changes on CNC equipment
- Clean and perform preventative maintenance as needed, to maintain the equipment in optimum-operating conditions at all times
- Perform set up inspection with blue-print dimensions
- Assist Engineering to ensure current blueprints on all lock parts
- Maintain and understand SPC procedures
- Wear protective safety equipment throughout the entire shift within machine shop, including earplugs and safety glasses
- Maintain production reports, tracking downtime, set-up time, parts produced, MDI, and inventory accuracy.
- Receive jobs on daily basis, and determine the correct path, and correct any issues with the help of the Materials group, and customers
- Use basic PC skills to send emails, track production, and investigate inventory / production issues
- Familiar with the metallurgy of steel, bronze and brass and capable of testing to determine its suitability for the application.
- Ability to work in a variety of potentially hazardous situations, including high noise, dust and chemicals, while wearing required protective equipment
- Maintain broach blade inventory for both Manual and Automatic Plug Broaching
What You Need to Succeed :
Five (5) years of machining experience performing machine set up or an Associate’s Degree in Machining Technology or demonstrated ability to perform the required job requirements.Perform machinist math skillsRead and understand measurement tools (including dial calipers, micrometers, comparators, indicators, height stands, etc)Working knowledge of SPCRead and understand blueprint drawingsAbility to work in a team environment toward team goals is imperativeAn area of expertise in Milling, Turning, Grinding and BroachingWork with coolants and various machining oilsStand on concrete floors eight (8) hours or more per shiftWrite English, alpha and numeric charactersUnderstand English instructions, both written and verbalDemonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate mechanical knowledge and capabilitiesDemonstrate good hand / eye coordinationDemonstrate accurate decision-making skillsWhy Work for Us?

This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
The expected Hourly Range : $16.97- $30.04. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
