About the Role
As a vital member of our clinical team, you'll support cardiovascular physicians and medical staff in delivering comprehensive patient care. Your responsibilities will span direct patient interaction, diagnostic testing, clinical documentation, and administrative support. You'll serve as a key link in ensuring a seamless, efficient, and patient-focused experience in our clinics.
Key Responsibilities
Record and update vital signs, medical histories, medications, allergies, and patient concernsAssist physicians with exams, procedures, injections, EKGs, blood draws, and diagnostic preparationsProvide clear patient education and post-visit instructions to promote understanding and follow-throughDocument care and provider orders accurately in electronic medical records (EMR)Support Coumadin clinics, pacemaker / defibrillator checks, and monitor setupMaintain clean, safe, and well-stocked clinical areas; complete weekly OSHA and safety checksManage medical forms, supply ordering, and insurance pre-certificationsAssist front office with scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and HIPAA complianceRespond to patient inquiries in person and by phone, ensuring excellent communication and serviceCollaborate across departments to facilitate timely care, accurate documentation, and smooth workflowProvide flexible support and cross-coverage to other clinics and team members as neededWhat Makes You a Great Match
For LPNs : Current LPN license in Louisiana and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS a plus)For CMAs : Certification as a CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA and at least 400 clinical hours in cardiologyExperience with EMR systems and accurate clinical documentationProficiency in phlebotomy, EKGs, triage, injections, and assisting in diagnostic testingStrong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered focusOrganized, adaptable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environmentCommitted to professional conduct, safety standards, and continuous improvementEqual Opportunity Employer
