Job descriptionDiploma in Machine Tool or related field and 5 years of experience in tool fabrication, maintenance or machine shop experience. Journeyman status as Tool and Die Maker or related area and 1 year of experience in tool fabrication, maintenance or machine shop experience. Working knowledge of safe and effective use of CNC mills, lathes, mills, grinders, cutter grinders, drill presses, band saws, table saws, digitals, welders, sandblasters, jigsaws, die bending equipment and bench grinders. Reading blueprints proficiency. Hands tool knowledge and ability to train others on safe and effective use of air routing drills, sanding equipment, hand drills, hand grinders, layout instruments, gauge blocks, dial venires, dial indicators and micrometers. Apply shop math to build tools. English language reading, writing and verbal communication skills. Self-starter with strong troubleshooting skills and ability to try new methods to improve productivity.

Responsibilities
- Fabricate and modify tools and mechanical components using CNC mills, lathes, drills, grinders and other shop equipment.
- Perform bench work and complete jobs to the quality required for each customer.
- Inspect tools, rebuild and repair to reduce development costs of new tools.
- Improve work practices and methods as a team member.
- Assist with training of other tooling team members.
- Understand and comply with ISO QSPs and work instructions related to job responsibilities.
- Assist in Tool Vault and Sample Lab as required.
- Support machine shop functions and provide machine shop support to all departments.
- Troubleshoot production problems and provide solutions.
- Perform work to the tooling schedule and adjust as required to meet internal and external customer deadlines.
