  • About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP of Clinical Development in Ophthalmology to lead the global development of ophthalmic genetic medicines. The successful candidate will be a key figure in the introduction of the first intravitreally delivered genetic medicines for the treatment of irreversible blindness. This role involves strategic and operational leadership, with a focus on medical oversight of clinical studies, including monitoring patient safety, data integrity, and protocol adherence. The VP will also be responsible for the design and execution of clinical trials, as well as the preparation of key clinical documents for regulatory submissions. Collaboration with internal and external partners is essential, as is the ability to represent the company in interactions with potential partners and key stakeholders in the ophthalmic and biotech communities.

The ideal candidate will have a background in gene therapy, experience with NDA, BLA, or MAA submissions, and a history of successful interactions with regulatory authorities. Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
