WHN is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architect & Drafter to support the design, planning, and documentation of commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will be proficient in architectural design concepts, technical drafting, building codes, and construction documentation, and will work closely other architects, project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver accurate, high-quality plans. Architectural Design
- Develop conceptual and schematic building designs based on client requirements and project goals.
- Prepare floor plans, elevations, sections, 3D renderings, and presentation materials.
- Conduct site assessments, zoning research, and feasibility studies.
- Collaborate with clients to refine design solutions and ensure project alignment.
Drafting & Documentation
Produce detailed construction drawings, including plans, details, schedules, and specifications.Update and revise drawings based on design changes, field conditions, or engineer input.Create technical documentation compliant with local, state, and national building codes.Maintain organized drawing sets and manage version control throughout the design process.Project Coordination
Work closely with engineers, contractors, and consultants to integrate structural, MEP, and other building systems.Assist in preparing permit submission packages and responding to authority comments.Support project managers in tracking deliverables, timelines, and milestones.Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure all drawings meet industry standards, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements.Perform self-checks and peer reviews for accuracy and consistency.Stay updated on materials, technologies, and design trends.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology (REVIT), or related field (Architect role).Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, REVIT / CAD (Drafter role).Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, Twin Motion, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and architectural detailing.Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Preferred Skills
Experience with 3D modeling and visualization tools.Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green building standards (LEED, Energy Star).Field experience or exposure to construction administration.Work Environment
