Join the team at Austell Gas System as a Data Entry Support Specialist operating in a secure and efficient remote capacity. In this remote role, you will be integral to our data operations, enabling remote access and remote workflows that support both field technicians and office staff. The remote framework of this position allows you to perform your duties from anywhere with a reliable internet connection—without needing to be onsite. While working remotely, you will collaborate with remote colleagues, manage remote data flows, and ensure that remote documentation processes remain streamlined and accurate.
Your remote contributions will directly support our mission of providing safe, reliable natural gas service to thousands of residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Through remote assistance and virtual coordination, you’ll help ensure data integrity across both remote and onsite systems—empowering the company to maintain high standards of service and operational transparency even when working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive data entry support from your remote workspace, helping to update and maintain customer account records, service logs, meter reading data, and operational entries to support on-site and remote teams.
Verify, reconcile, and validate data entered remotely, collaborating with remote staff and on-site personnel to identify and correct inconsistencies, missing information or errors within remote systems.
Manage and organize remote filing systems and databases so that remote access is available to both remote team members and field personnel when needed.
Generate remote-accessible reports, summaries, and dashboards that empower remote supervisors and management with actionable insights for remote operations.
Communicate virtually with remote and on-site teams to gather required information, clarify data requirements, and support seamless integration of remote and field workflows.
Identify and recommend remote-friendly tools, templates or processes to enhance efficiency of remote data-entry operations and improve remote teamwork coordination.
Support the documentation, version control and archival elements of remote data systems, ensuring remote records are audit-ready, secure and properly maintained.
Uphold data security protocols, confidentiality standards and compliance requirements within your remote workspace, ensuring that remote workflows meet company policy and regulatory expectations.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certificate in business administration, data management or related field preferred.
Experience in data entry, administrative support or related roles; prior remote work experience or comfort with remote setups is highly valued.
Proficiency in spreadsheet software, database systems and remote collaboration tools; comfortable working in a remote environment alongside remote and on-site teammates.
Exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks independently within a remote workspace.
Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office or remote workspace with minimal distractions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively coordinate with remote and on-site personnel.
Self-motivated, disciplined and capable of thriving in a remote role with minimal supervision.
Familiarity with data confidentiality practices, version control and remote records-management best practices.

Requirements
Education : High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in gas pipeline systems or a related field is preferred. Experience : Previous experience in gas pipeline installation, maintenance, or a related field is advantageous. Certifications : Valid driver’s license; additional certifications related to gas systems are a plus. Skills : Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements : Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions.
