CMM Programmer – Exempt

The Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer will have a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of GD&T, a real understanding of highly technical drawings, and strong spatial reasoning aptitude. This position will be a part of a CMM Programming team that will provide opportunities to collaborate, share knowledge and learn new programming techniques.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Create offline measurement programs that satisfy internal and customer part specifications.
- Able to edit and troubleshoot existing measurement programs.
- Follow and maintain an established software control system that utilizes revision controls and software safeguards.
- Follow established standard programming procedures.
- Perform and assist with an established measurement program approval procedure.
- Create work instructions, setup instructions, and perform training events to ensure Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) operators can efficiently operate the machine and execute measurement programs.
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) maintenance.
- Performs other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.
- Participate in training as required
- 5-10% Domestic Travel required

Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.Bachelor’s Degree in Metrology or Engineering preferredHigh School Diploma or GED required3+ years of experience programming vision systems and other Metrology equipment3+ years experience in Aerospace layout inspectionProficient in the use of various metrology programming software packagesAbility to read and understand technical data, i.e., blueprints, operation sheets, inspection reports, etc.Strong Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) knowledge.Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 requirements.Must work well independently and have the aptitude for attention to detailAbility to learn and adapt to changing technologyAn understanding of Quality Management Standards (QMS) such as AS 9100 and ISO 9001.A strong understanding of how to program offline using a CAD model.Strong computer-based application skills and general computer literacyMust be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
