Job Description:
Position Summary:This position investigates complaints of alleged discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations under the Kansas Act Against Discrimination and the Kansas Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Employment cases may also be dual-filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and/or other applicable federal statutes.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:This position processes all assigned cases from start to finish, including, but not limited to, interviewing parties to the complaint; interviewing witnesses; determining, requesting and reviewing relevant files and records; preparing case progress reports; maintaining the investigative file; and writing the final summary of each case. Makes recommendations of "Probable Cause" or "No Probable Cause" for final determination by a commissioner. Investigations are conducted in a thorough, neutral, fact-finding manner.
Minimum Qualifications
One year experience in human resources, public or business administration, criminal justice or law, communications, psychology or social work. Education in communications, psychology, social work, public or business administration, criminal justice or law may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Possess and maintain a valid Kansas Driver's License.
