Neurosurgery APP

Overview

StaffMED Health Partners is collaborating with a rapidly growing Neuroscience Institute in the Chicagoland area, focused on world-class neuroscience care through an innovative, personalized approach for patients in Chicagoland and beyond. The group is seeking an experienced APP with a strong, take-charge work ethic to support a high-acuity cranial neurosurgery service. This is a full-time opportunity to join a busy, growing, independent physician-run group consisting of neurosurgeons, ENTs, neuro-oncologists, and neurologists establishing a state-of-the-art neuroscience program.

Responsibilities

• Routine diagnostic, therapeutic and invasive surgical procedures (where clinically relevant).
• Prepare and record patient history and physical examinations. Assist with pre-admission testing for assigned surgical service patients and explain procedures to patients.
• Develop inpatient and outpatient care. Participate in post-procedure follow-up and write orders for appropriate medical care.
• Act as first or second assistant in the operating room.
• Serve as expert clinician and patient advocate within the specialty. Provide direct patient care to include comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosing, planning, and treatment with both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic methods.
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to provide optimal patient care.

The 509-bed campus is a comprehensive stroke center and represents one of the largest facilities in the northern suburbs of Chicago and the largest campus within the Health System. The newly opened Spine and Pain Center on its Arlington Heights campus is part of a plan with the Neurological Institute to transform from a community hospital to a one-of-a-kind global Neurosciences destination. The Neurosciences Institute will grow to integrate and house a full suite of physicians and providers with state-of-the-art ORs equipped with the latest navigation technology.
