Job Overview :

Under the direction of the Department Director of the Intensive Care unit and the Progressive Care unit, the Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility in overseeing and coordinating the clinical activities, operations, quality and safety of patient care and patient experience of the assigned unit.

General :

  • The Nurse Manager works with the Department Director on ensuring personnel development, management and retention of staff.
  • The Nurse Manager collaborates with the Department Director on implementing, monitoring and evaluating standards of care and practice.
  • Participates in assigned hospital committees and promotes collaborative relationships among Nursing, medical staff and other departments.
  • Assists in ensuring assigned units are compliant with regulatory standards and appropriateness of care.
  • Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications :

  • BSN, required.
  • MSN, preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program. Exceptions subject to management discretion.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in area of practice required. Previous leadership / management experience required.
  • Current and active Florida State RN licensure.
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS at start date.
  • Additional certifications required at start date or interfacility transfer (unless otherwise stated) :
  • All Nursing Units / Depts (except Nursery) ACLS (New graduate RNs within 90 days of start date)
  • PACU PALS (within 90 days of start date or prior to completion of orientation-whichever is first)
  • CNOR certification preferred.
