• Conducting research and providing expert analysis in support of requests for information from Department leadership and congressional inquiry
\n
• Coordinating and collecting data from across the organization, organize data in applications, and present findings to government customers
\n
• Fulfil ad-hoc and quick reaction tasking to inform Department decision makers while aligning to existing and emerging priorities and strategies
\n
• Authoring memorandums, whitepapers, and briefings communicating the organization's positions, activities, and analysis to senior leaders, subordinate organizations, industry, and other stakeholders
\n
• Assisting in the management and implementation of communication strategies and projects
\n
• Working with engineers and other subject matter experts to ensure the delivery of timely, executive-quality deliverables
\n
• Tracking progress to plan and ensure compliance with all applicable policies
\n
• Coordinating with external stakeholders as well as Department of War Public Affairs and Strategic Communications
\n

Requirements

\n
• Active Top Secret SCI Clearance
\n
• Bachelor's degree in a field related to Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Public Administration, Legislative Affairs, or a related field
\n
• 5 years of relevant professional experience in communications; Department of Defense experience strongly preferred
\n
• Demonstrated proficiency in developing and advising on communications strategies, to include focused messaging to specific audiences
\n
• Experience in the development, drafting, editing, publishing, distribution, coordination of various communication deliverables, to include information papers, guidance memorandums, policies, technical reports, congressional reports, annual reports, and responses to media inquiries, briefing cards, and presentations
\n
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with and elicit information from engineers and other technical subject matter experts, locate primary sources, synthesize disparate data points into a focused message, and communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences
\n
• Experience tracking project progress to plan
\n
• Ability to work effectively both individually and as a member of a team
\n
• Flexibility and willingness to work on all aspects of team priorities
\n
• Ability to work with a wide range of contributors, to include engineers, subject matter experts, functional teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders
\n
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
\n
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work within tight deadlines
\n
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including copy editing experience
\n
• Ability to design and produce high-quality products and documents
\n
• Familiarity with Office of the Secretary of Defense and Department of Defense writing styles as
\n
• contained in DoD Manual 5110.04-M, Volume 1, DoD Manual for Written Material: Correspondence Management and DoD 5110.04-M, Volume 2, DoD Manual for Written Material: Examples and Reference Material
\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
\n
• Proficiency creating charts, tables, and info-graphics
