Manager, Global Business Operations

The Manager, Global Business Operations, is responsible for managing system-driven operations to support the daily activities of Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and Contract Testing Labs (CTLs). This role will oversee the flow of contracts, purchase orders (POs), and invoices, ensuring compliance and smooth execution. The manager will also ensure the continuity and compliance of VEXMO system operations through business system configuration, master data coordination, and integration across finance, supply chain, and quality systems. Acting as a subject matter expert (SME), this role identifies opportunities for system improvements and collaborates with key stakeholders, including VEXMO, Supply Chain, Finance, SS&P, Legal, BI&A, and IT. The responsibilities of the successful candidate fall into the following categories :

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and own the monthly CMO KPI reporting for VEXMO contracts and purchasing, ensuring metrics are tracked and actions are taken to improve performance where necessary.
  • Assist in Purchase order creation and invoice tracking against the budget.
  • Oversee system-driven operations for CMOs and CTLs, ensuring compliance and consistency in contract, PO, and invoice processing within the ERP system.
  • Ensure smooth coordination of CMO BPA, Master Data setup and business tool configurations (e.g., for CMO batch management.
  • Responsible to work with Legal, Global Procurement and Finance departments to coordinate all activities associated with the development and execution of contracts, purchase requisitions and invoice management.
  • Accountable for tracking, managing, and monitoring all changes to contracts / POs, ensuring timely amendments, approvals, and implementation within the External Manufacturing organization.
  • Implements and maintains tools and tracking systems to facilitate business operations, allotment of resources, and continuous improvement of the organization.
  • Act as an SME in cross-functional project teams, supporting the delivery of systems (SAP-Wave 5) improvements and ensuring efficient use of analytics and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Process & Systems to ensure smooth transition from project phase to business operations for newly implemented systems and capabilities.
  • Will provide operations specialist support to CMOs / CTLs
  • Manage Adhoc operational projects as requested by the GBO Lead.

Qualifications & Experience

  • BS / BA or equivalent experience in Biopharma
  • 5+ years experience in business operations, contract management or related systems supporting these activities.
  • Must have knowledge & experience in Icertis, Oracle, SAP and Ariba systems.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and time management with focus on processes, projects and systems to efficiently meet business needs.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to analyze situations and develop solutions. Modifies approaches and procedures to issues as they arise.
  • Requires moderate direction to complete more complex tasks; complete routine tasks with little or no supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be a team player and be willing to work in an environment where individual initiative, accountability to the team and professional maturity are required.

    Compensation Overview : Madison - Giralda - NJ - US : $105,400 - $127,720. The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience.
