Were seeking a Senior Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EIC) Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex projects across the oil & gas and utility sectors. This role suits an experienced professional who can balance hands-on technical work with leadership, mentoring, and coordination across disciplines.
Youll take ownership of complete electrical and I&C design packages, guide system studies and equipment specifications, and collaborate with project managers, vendors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Engineering
Lead and review full electrical design packages, including one-line diagrams, grounding and lighting layouts, conduit and raceway plans, and cable schedules.
Specify and evaluate electrical equipment such as switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, UPS, and power panels.
Perform and review electrical system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, coordination) using ETAP or SKM.
Conduct key electrical calculations including cable sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, and short-circuit analysis.
Review vendor drawings, bills of materials, and procurement documentation.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship for junior engineers and designers.
Instrumentation & Controls
Oversee development of complete I&C design deliverables including instrument location plans, loop and wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and panel BOMs.
Develop and review instrument datasheets, control philosophies, and cause & effect matrices.
Specify and configure PLCs, RTUs, SCADA, and related control systems.
Guide design for network architecture and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, Ethernet / IP).
Support FAT / SAT documentation and field integration.
Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, SPI (Intools), or similar design software is preferred.
Project Development & Technical Leadership
Lead conceptual design and proposal development, including scope, cost, and schedule input.
Conduct site visits for data collection and constructability reviews.
Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, and other safety or risk assessments.
Ensure design quality through QA / QC checks and standards compliance.
Serve as the technical point of contact for clients and vendors throughout design and procurement.
Support construction and commissioning with RFI responses, as-built reviews, and field troubleshooting.
Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement of internal design tools and standards.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
Minimum 7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
Masters degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
Proficiency in standard engineering design methods, ANSI / IEEE standards, and related electrical codes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proven experience leading design teams and coordinating multi-discipline project execution.
Ability to perform technical reviews of detailed engineering documents.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
