We are seeking an Project Engineer with hotel and restaurant construction / renovation experience to join our Torrance-based team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and trade / craft persons.
• Implement pre-construction strategic plan.
• Obtain and maintain construction permits, manage fee payments.
• Develop and maintain logs as required by Project Manager and MBI policies.
• Manage, create, distribute, and file records of certain contract documents.
• Establish procedures for electronic documents, including RFIs and correspondence.
• Manage, record, and file testing and inspection processes.
• Manage submittals; ensure material deliveries align with project schedule.
• Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders; update as-built construction documents.
• Build relationships across diverse backgrounds; lead and coach team members effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred
• Minimum two years of related experience in hotel and restaurant construction / renovation projects .
• Project management certification is preferred
• Detail-oriented to manage multiple project tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction legal requirements and business practices.
• Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Intermediate Procore, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and web application skills.
• Active listening and effective communication; openness to diverse feedback.
• Ability to travel to project sites on occasion.
• Proximity to office for ease of commutes to regular workplace assignment.
