Technician – Temporary (Houston Rodeo Support)

Location : On-site, Houston, TX

Pay Rate : $20.00 per hour

Schedule : Part-time, Temporary

Smart City is hiring temporary Technicians to support the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event technology while helping connect thousands of attendees, vendors, and exhibitors.

Position Summary

As a Technician, you will work on-site at the Houston Rodeo to install, maintain, and troubleshoot network and internet services. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to break into the IT or telecom field in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist event customers with network and internet connectivity
  • Interpret event floor plans and install network infrastructure accordingly
  • Set up and test copper and fiberoptic cabling, jumpers, and patch cables
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site
  • Maintain and restock tools and equipment
  • Provide excellent customer service and technical support

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in technology and a desire to learn
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and remain professional under pressure
  • Friendly, customer-focused attitude with a willingness to help
  • Must be able to work on-site; this is not a remote or hybrid position
