Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Purchasing Specialist to support a large, fast-moving organization with extensive construction and store development operations. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional with strong purchasing experience who thrives on improving processes, reducing costs, and coordinating complex project needs across multiple teams and vendors.
Responsibilities :
- Verify accuracy of construction orders for store projects, including fixtures, millwork, equipment, office furniture, and other construction-related purchases.
- Develop processes and procedures to streamline construction orders and maintain delivery schedules.
- Create, report, and implement cost-saving initiatives across purchasing activities.
- Identify order overages for new and updated store projects by establishing procedures to flag inconsistencies.
- Contact and manage recyclers, buyers, and liquidators for bulk used fixtures to generate return profit.
- Partner with Space Planning and Plan-O-Gram teams to ensure fixture orders align with actual counts rather than bulk purchasing.
- Review CAD plans to place accurate office furniture orders with approved vendors and ensure timely delivery and installation.
- Manage on-hand store counts and adjust backstock fixture numbers for current and future seasonal needs following project completion.
- Participate in store project walks to identify necessary additional items for purchase.
- Travel to confirm fixture procedure implementations are being followed by vendors and support teams.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred.5+ years of experience in a purchasing or negotiating role.Forecasting, strategic planning, and inventory management experience preferred.Strong Microsoft Office experience, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes.Ability to read and interpret CAD plans.Acceptable hearing and vision levels necessary to perform job duties.Analytical abilities with strong problem-solving and creative resolution skills.Ability to remain organized, maintain attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines.Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team environment.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for interfacing across multiple levels.This contract assignment provides a valuable opportunity to expand purchasing expertise while supporting high-visibility construction and development initiatives.
