Registered Nurse (RN) I - Ortho Spine - Full Time - Nights at Norman Regional Health System summary :

The Registered Nurse (RN) I for the Ortho Spine unit is responsible for providing specialized nursing care for orthopedic patients in a certified center of excellence. This full-time, night shift position includes a range of responsibilities from patient assessment and care planning to collaboration with healthcare teams. Candidates must possess an ADN or higher, along with a current Oklahoma RN license and BLS certification.

Overview :

Compensation / Benefits

  • $27.84-$45.46 / hr depending on previous work experience.
  • Evening differential $2.50 / hr.
  • Night differential $3.00 / hr.
  • Weekend differential $3.00 / hr.

Ortho / Spine is a 32 bed unit specializing in orthopedic patients. We have disease specific certification from the Joint Commission in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement and Hip Fx patients which deems us a center of excellence. We also care for Total Shoulder and Ankle patients as well as other fractures. We also care for low level cardiac patients and some med-surg patients.

Responsibilities :

  • collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data, establishing goals, planning care strategy,
  • establishing priorities of care, implementing care, delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care,
  • evaluating responses to interventions, and performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
  • Qualifications : Education

  • Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Experience

  • Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.
  • (Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience).

    Licensure / Certification

  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
  • New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
