Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline : RN Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, rotating Employment Type : Travel RN - PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) Facility : Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) Schedule Shift : 09 : 00 AM - 07 : 30 PM (0930-2000 noted) Days : 4 shifts per week (day off rotates based on call schedule) On-Call : Every 3-4 days; post-call day off provided Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week Contract Length : 13 weeks (91 days) Assignment Overview At Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH) , the PACU RN provides post-anesthesia recovery care to patients following surgical or procedural interventions. This includes assessing patient status, managing pain, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a safe transition to the next phase of care. Key Responsibilities : Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Provide clear explanations and education to patients and families. Utilize sound nursing judgment to recognize and report patient condition changes. Maintain accurate and complete documentation. Contribute to a positive and professional team environment. Participate in ongoing education and maintain competencies.
