Job Title: Civil Project Manager, Public Works Project Manager
Location: Sacramento, CA / Rancho Cordova, CA
Compensation: $130-150,000 base +
Minimum Requirements:
- 10+ years Civil Engineering background
- Public Works project experience
- Autocad Civil 3D experience
- CA PE License
We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to lead a team of designers and engineers in delivering high-quality public works and land development projects. This role combines project management, client engagement, and technical design leadership. The ideal candidate is a licensed professional engineer with a strong background in civil engineering, team leadership, and business development.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a variety of public works and private land development projects from concept through construction.
- Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring strong communication and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and oversee the development of engineering reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Track and manage project scope, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and profitable delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design staff, including engineers and CAD technicians.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, fee negotiations, and client presentations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive project success.
- Occasionally visit job sites, attend client meetings, and submit plans to agencies.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California required.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a focus on public works.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead diverse teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Experience with client interaction and mentoring junior staff.
Additional Requirements- Valid California driver’s license.
- Ability to travel locally for site visits and meetings.
- Capable of lifting and carrying plan sets (1–20 lbs) as needed.
Compensation & Benefits- Salary Range: $130,000 – $150,000 annually
