Shape the backbone of Joint Command and Control—develop and maintain robust back-end services that power GCCS-J, the DoD’s trusted platform for mission-critical situational awareness.

A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do

• Support sustainment and modernization of the Global Command and Control System – Joint (GCCS-J), the DoD’s C2 system of record
• Design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable, and high-performing back-end applications supporting situational awareness, infrastructure, and intelligence product areas
• Write and maintain RESTful web services and integrate with streaming / messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, and others
• Architect and manage diverse database solutions (SQL, NoSQL, GeoSpatial, Key / Object pair) to support dynamic data-driven applications
• Collaborate across geographically dispersed teams to ensure delivery of resilient solutions on schedule and within budget
• Lead independent technical investigations, provide technical advice, and assist the Government in integrating GCCS-J functionality into new baselines
• Follow Agile development processes across the full lifecycle : requirements, design, implementation, test, and sustainment
• Ensure compliance with DoD security standards, coding best practices, and performance requirements

Required Qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related technical field
