Managing Director, Regional Market Executive (RME) - Mid-Atlantic
The Managing Director, Regional Market Executive (RME) – Mid-Atlantic leads a territory of roughly 20 branches across DC, VA, MD, and NJ. The RME directly oversees 12 Branch Managers and their teams that deliver Wealth Management services to individuals and families. The role is a senior leadership position responsible for driving sales and relationship‑management excellence, fostering a culture of compliance and supervision, and executing Schwab’s strategic priorities for accelerated growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
Serve as a visible ambassador of the Schwab brand, consistently representing its values in all interactions.
Champion enterprise‑wide initiatives by leading change‑management efforts across the region.
Translate corporate‑led initiatives into localized leadership messages that resonate with teams and drive engagement.
Deliver consistent execution of internal and external sales activities and strategies, including design, implementation, training, communication and assessment of initiatives, contests, and incentives.
Inspire and motivate teams through transparent communication and coaching, fostering a culture rooted in trust, accountability, and success.
Model Schwab’s core values through actions and decisions that earn and uphold client trust.
Drive employee engagement within the assigned market by promoting positive outcomes and implementing actionable plans.
Facilitate active participation in all communications, including area sales meetings.
Lead authentically, make tough decisions and think beyond the immediate issue at hand.
Collaborate across regions and departments to resolve issues and influence action.
Adapt leadership style to connect meaningfully with staff, peers, leaders, and clients.
Cultivate a high‑performing, diverse team with complementary skills and foster a sense of community.
Business Strategy & Execution
Operate with an ownership mindset to support the development of comprehensive local business plans aligned with Schwab’s strategic priorities.
Define clear, measurable goals and performance expectations for designated locations, and regularly communicate progress.
Implement and evaluate targeted campaigns to drive sales performance and enhance client engagement.
Champion operational excellence by identifying and executing process improvements that increase efficiency.
Practice effective resource management, fully using current investments and advocating for high‑value additions.
Grow, enhance and use internal / external partnerships to influence business success.
Maintain a deep understanding of competitor and industry trends to inform local strategy and communications.
Support Branch Managers in optimizing local opportunities.
Talent Development & Management
Coach Branch Managers and team members to elevate leadership capabilities and team performance.
Build succession plans and recruit top talent to support long‑term growth.
Hold employees accountable for achievement of quantitative and qualitative measures.
Promote a culture of recognition, development, and accountability.
Risk & Compliance Management
Drive a culture of compliance and risk management.
Proactively identify audit and compliance risks with the Supervision and Controls Team.
Ensure Branch Managers observe financial consultants’ sales practices for coaching and risk oversight.
Uphold Schwab’s brand and shareholder value through strong stewardship and ethical leadership.
Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, and policies, and seek guidance when necessary.
Implement and carry out Schwab and regulatory policies for all supervised individuals.
Ensure qualified supervisors through licensing, training, and documentation.
Distribute new and amended policies, and provide required training.
Implement appropriate security measures to protect client information.
Required Experience
10+ years of sales and leadership experience in financial services at a similar scale and complexity.
Prior sales‑management experience and exposure to operations, technology, human resources, supervision, compliance, etc.
Ability to build trust and cultivate partnership, resulting in a positive and effective culture.
Consistent record of building and developing strong collaborative teams through engagement.
Ability to set clear expectations and hold teams accountable for significant results.
Bachelor’s degree.
Active and valid Series 7, 9 / 10, and Series 66 required.
Active and valid Series 24 preferred.
